The Four Pillars

Four points in time, one personal chart.

A Bazi chart is built from four pillars based on your birth hour, day, month, and year. Each pillar represents a different layer of life and contributes to the overall structure of your chart.

01

Hour

Inner aspirations, ideas, projects, later-life expression, and what you may seek to create or develop.

02

Day

The Day Pillar contains the Day Master, a central reference point for understanding self and relationships.

03

Month

Structure, development, work tendencies, responsibilities, and how you function within larger systems.

04

Year

Roots, environment, early influences, family background, and the wider world around you.

Five Elements

The energies that shape the chart.

Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water interact continuously within a Bazi chart. Their balance and relationships help describe recurring tendencies, strengths, challenges, and areas of development.

Wood Growth · direction · development
Fire Expression · visibility · inspiration
Earth Stability · grounding · support
Metal Structure · discipline · refinement
Water Insight · adaptability · reflection
Understanding Your Chart

A framework for reflection, not a fixed verdict.

LifeChart Insights approaches Bazi as a tool for understanding patterns rather than predicting an unavoidable future. A chart can offer perspective on natural tendencies, recurring dynamics, and periods of change while leaving room for choice, context, and personal development.

Based on local birth time

Birth times are interpreted in the local time zone of the birthplace and are not converted to Korea Standard Time. For lunar-calandar dates, the system first converts the date to the solar calendar using a library based on Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute(KASI) conversion data, then calculate the Four Pillars using solar-term boundaries.
